Linda Elaine Martens

It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Linda Elaine Martens, age 71. She passed away peacefully December 22, 2018 at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, Alberta. Linda passed away from complications with the Multiple Sclerosis, which she had suffered with for many years.
Linda was born in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan, October 10, 1947 to Kenneth and Alva (Anderson) Rustad. After leaving the farm she moved to Saskatoon to pursue a career in hairdressing. It was in Saskatoon that she met her future husband Bill Martens. Linda and Bill were married in Rose Valley on May 18, 1968.
Linda will be adoringly and forever remembered by her husband and friend of 50 years Bill; their three wonderful children, sons Dean and Jimi and daughter Candace; and her granddaughter Kirsten. Linda will also be lovingly remembered by her mother Alva Mann; and Linda's many siblings. Raymond (Judi) Rustad, Loretta (Gary) Blair, Roland Rustad, Lorna (Marvin) Dashney, Lorraine Rustad, Laurel (Wayne) Nelson, Robin (Jacqualine) Rustad and Roy (Connie) Rustad. Linda will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family would like to thank the ICU doctors and nurses at the Foothills Hospital but more importantly, the Peter Lougheed Centre. The empathy and compassion shown to Linda as well as the kindness and grace given to the family throughout our stay was above and beyond expectation. We will be eternally grateful.
In keeping with Linda's wishes there will be no formal funeral. A private family celebration of her life will be held sometime in the future; details to be sent out at a later date.
