Obituary for Anita Marie Masters (Belcourt)

Anita Marie Masters
April 1, 1948 – December 30, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Anita Marie Masters (Belcourt) announces her passing on Sunday, December 30th, 2018. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Masters-Johnson and Kimberly Doucet (Mike); her grandchildren, Nicole Masters, Amanda Medeiros (Joseph) and Michael Doucet; her great grandchildren, Johannah and Joseph Medeiros; her brother, Raynald Belcourt; and her nieces, Cheryl, Michelle and Candace Belcourt. She is predeceased by her mother, Solange (Sally) Belcourt (Perrault), father, Victor Belcourt; and her grandparents, Julia and Celestine Perrault. There have also been numerous animals throughout her life; whether they were her pets, pets in the family, or ones she met when taking her daily walks. She was a huge animal lover and believed that they deserved to be treated with respect! If you checked her pockets you would usually find a dog treat or some peanuts in the shell.

She passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side. She was very strong and incredibly brave during an aggressive 5 month long battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer. She was just 70 yrs. old; was always very independent and energetic up until June of 2018 when the journey to diagnosis began. You could always count on her to be at all occasions, be the first one to help out and always be everyone’s favorite ‘Gramma’.

She will be greatly missed by so many but her spirit will live on forever within us. She taught us important lessons throughout our lives and we would not be the people we’ve become without her. She devoted herself to family 110% and that love and devotion will never be forgotten. She will live on in our hearts and minds and we will honor her forever. Thank you for the wonderful years we spent with you

XO
