Delores McMillan
August 25, 1940 - March 21, 2018
Delores McMillan passed away on March 21, 2018. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Wife and will be remembered for her passion for learning and knowledge. Family was her most prized treasure and Delores enjoyed any moment she could steal with them.
Born and raised in Kelliher, Saskatchewan in 1940, Delores moved to Calgary in the early 1960’s with her husband Gerald Anderson. The pair eventually built a home in Varsity where they raised their two daughters, and later their two granddaughters, until Gerald’s untimely death in 1984. Finding love again, Delores married Harold McMillan in 1991, on New Year's Day. The two spent many years going on cruises and driving around the country until health issues pushed their travels to the side.
Delores graduated from The University of Alberta in Calgary and spent many years teaching Grade 3 at Varsity Acres Elementary School. Her last job before retiring was with Tourism Calgary and seemed the perfect fit, since Delores enjoyed telling people “where to go and how to get there”.
She will be remembered in many hearts.
The family will host an open house on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 1 - 4 p.m at the Silver Springs Golf & Country Club (1600 Varsity Estate Drive N.W., Calgary). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Heart & Stroke Foundation (http://www.heartandstroke.ca/).
