Shelley Jane Hedrick (Cudney)
Shelley Jane Hedrick (Cudney)
October 23, 1959 – June 27, 2018

On Wednesday, June 27, 2018, Shelley Hedrick (Cudney) passed away suddenly at the age of 58. Shelley wore many hats: mother, sister, daughter, friend, chef, and helper. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Delia (Trevor); espoused daughter Jane; brother Stewart; sister-in-law Patti; cousins Linda and Wendy; and aunt Minnie. Shelley was predeceased by her parents Velma and Ralph; brothers Steve and Randy; uncle Bill; and cousin Wayne.

Shelley had many careers (server, hair dresser, customer service) but what gave her a deep sense of purpose was supporting and caring for young people in different capacities. Her most recent position was with the Youth Criminal Justice System in Saskatchewan. One of Shelley’s greatest gifts was hospitality and serving. It gave her great joy to cook delectable food and share time with people. She was fiercely loyal, shared a boisterous laugh, and never left anyone wondering how much she loved them.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Choice Memorial (105 – 4715 13th Street NE, Calgary AB). Reverend Larry Moore will be officiating the service with a lunch reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Shelley are gratefully accepted by the Canadian Mental Health Association – Calgary Region to support their efforts helping people recovering from mental illness and addictions.
